Rockburn Wines opened their new tasting room to the public in early September 2006. Set within the fully-operational winery, it allows visitors to see the sights and smell the aromas of our premium wines in production.
Through the new tasting facility, Rockburn is able to promote its wine portfolio, both to existing customers and the expanding wine tourism industry in Central Otago. Visitors have the opportunity to taste the full product range – from award-winning Pinot Noir to Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Gewurztraminer, Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc.
The tasting room was designed by Dalmain Architects in Arrowtown. “The striking back wall is in Central Otago river stones, with a wooden ‘waka’ as the counter, supported by stone with wire mesh.” (Cuisine Wine Country 2007)
The winery-cellar door complex is located in Cromwell’s industrial estate at the corner of Gair Avenue and McNulty Road. It is easily accessible from both State Highways 6 and 8.
