The 2009 Pinot Noir beat off over 1100 wines to win Best Pinot Noir and the Wine of Show trophy at the Boutique Wine Awards in Sydney on Friday 13th.

Chairman of Judges, Huon Hooke, praised the high standard of Pinot Noirs in this year's event, saying that 'the clear highlight was judging the Pinot Noir class which was truly outstanding. It clearly demonstrated the superior quality of New Zealand success with this variety compared to their Australian counterparts.
The winning wine is an excellent example of the quality gap between the two countries. A superb wine.' Once again Central Otago's place as one
of the great Pinot Noir regions of the world is confirmed.

The Rockburn Pinot Noir 2009 is due for release in October. If you can't wait that long then why not stock up on the 2008 which is drinking beautifully at the
moment.
