| 2008 Pinot Noir |
| The 2008 vintage yielded very ripe fruit from each of our sites, and we have simply guided this fruit gently through to the bottle with minimal handling. Our “hands-off” approach delivers a pure expression of Central Otago to your glass; deeply fruited with delicate floral tones enhanced by nuances of liquorice root, and supple, silky tannins leading into a long spicy finish. As always this wine shows classic Rockburn elegance, integrity and balance. Enjoy with friends over the next 5-7 years. |

90-91/100, Neal Martin from The Wine Advocate [USA], May 2008
A barrel sample of the 2007 Pinot Noir shows great promise. Luscious fruit on the nose with doris plum and briery, a sense of minerality that I did not pick up on either the 2006. The palate is medium bodied, very supple and clean with a harmonious finish. |
| 5 Stars, Listener Magazine, Michael Cooper – Refined red with concentrated cherry/plum flavours, a subtle seasoning of oak and a seductively long, well-rounded finish. Already delicious. |

| Charmian Smith, Otago Daily Times – “The 06 Pinot is a stylish, well-structured, showy young wine once it opens up, then it oozes sweet cherry fruit and oodles creamy, spicy, toasty, chocolaty oak and finishes with fine-grained tannins and a long firm finish.” |
| Joelle Thompson, Urbis – “Everyone should have a ‘just in case’ wine and this is the first 2006 Central Otago Pinot Noir I tried – not to mention one of the best I’ve ever had from that region. Rock on Central and winemaker Malcolm Francis.” |

| 2005 Pinot Noir |
| The very deep colour of the 2005 Rockburn Pinot Noir is indicative of its concentration. Aromas of intense red and black currants and cherries dominate the nose, and a lean peppery entry into the palate broadens into a dense and firmly structured body, layered with fleshy bramble berries and spices and enhanced by satiny tannins. The finish is very polished and perfectly balanced with excellent length. This wine is ready to savor now and will continue to develop and impress for many years. |

"Rockburn is an ambitious and expanding Central Otago winery with vineyards in two areas: the cooler Gibbston area and the warmer Lowburn district. This is the winery's fifth pinot noir vintage and arguably its best from a challenging year. It's a minor fruit bomb with lovely red and black cherries together with a suggestion of wild herbs. Soft-textured and with a long finish, it's a good example from a cool and variable vintage. |

| 2004 Pinot Noir |
| A deep ruby red in its youth, the 2004 Rockburn Pinot Noir immediately impresses with its opulent dark fruit nose, displaying aspects of black cherry and plums and tempered by bright strawberry and spice highlights. The palate introduces itself with the same level of fruit weight, supported by sensual silky tannins through the mid palate with a long spicy finish of chocolate and current cake. This wine may be enjoyed immediately, yet will reward another six years careful cellaring. |

| 2003 Pinot Noir Gold Medal |
| The 2003 Rockburn Pinot Noir is deep garnet in colour and has a lovely nose dominated by spices and violets. The palate is full of rich, yet subtle black berry fruits with layers of complexity enhanced by fine tannins. The wine displays an elegance and power which lingers long after the last mouthfull. It will be ready to drink in 2005 but will reward cellaring for 3-5 years. |
