Jim Ashe | Cellar Door Host

Jim was drawn into the wine industry in 1997 after moving to Nelson. Sunday afternoon sessions at some of the vineyards in Moutere triggered something and Jim and his wife moved over the hill to Marlborough. After completing a diploma in viticulture and wine production, Jim made wine in the Margaret River, Barossa Valley and Rutherglen regions in Australia. Returning home three years later he settled in Bannockburn and planted a hobby vineyard. Jim has been in Central Otago now for 18 years involved in both wine and tourism.
