Rockburn Chardonnay leans towards the crisper and lighter end of the spectrum, demanding minimal use of oak.

The nose is pure and subtle with elements of wet stone, lemon zest and ripe peach.  The palate is full, textural with fine tension, showing lemon meringue, butterscotch and delicate minerality and a zesty finish.

A perfect complement to roast chicken, risotto, and seafood.

Upon release the wine will be bright, delicate and elegant.  Easily enjoyed upon bottling (Feb '24) it will continue to develop and mature well over the next five to seven years.

Reviews & Accolades

94/100 (5 Stars) -  Sam Kim, Wine Orbit "Beautifully styled and expressed, the elegantly fragrant bouquet shows white flesh peach, fig, lemon pith, and nougat characters. This leads to a succulent palate delivering fine texture and splendidly pitched acidity. Wonderfully harmonious with finesse and poise, the finish is persistent and engaging”

4 Stars - Michael Cooper - "Drinking well in its youth, but also ageworthy, the 2023 vintage (****) was grown in the Bannockburn and Parkburn districts, and fermented in a mix of barrels (60%) and stainless steel tanks (40%).  Bright, light lemon/green, it is mouthfilling, with ripe, peachy, citrusy flavours, a subtle seasoning of oak, fresh acidity, considerable complexity, and very good vigour, depth and harmony".

93/100 - Stephen Wong MW, The Real Review

90 points - Candice Chow, Raymond Chan Wine Reviews -"Bright, even, pale straw yellow. The nose is gently full, with aromas of peach, nectarine, citrus, butterscotch and candied nuts. Medium-bodied, aromas of lemon and grapefruit interweave with peach, apricot, and roasted nuts. The creamy palate features a stony mineral texture and salivating acidity, culminating in a toasty finish. This Chardonnay is rich and toasty, with ringing tension and a textural finish. Match with grilled swordfish and lemon chicken over the next 3-5 years."

93 Points -James Suckling "This wine leaps from the glass, with vibrant aromas of sliced apples, zesty lemons, stony minerality and a hint of pie crust. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and bright, with a tightly wound structure that unfolds to reveal rich flavors of stone fruit. The finish is intense and saline."
