Moving to New Zealand from the US over twenty years ago on a “two year” contract, the lure of Central Otago’s rugged beauty caused Matt to lose track of time.

While working with wines in hospitality from the beginning, the discovery of Central’s magical Pinot Noir started a love of all things wine. With the first vintage in 2008, the privilege of being involved with the creation of a beverage deeply linked with frivolity and emotions has kept him busy and always looking for the next amazing bottle.

When not being occupied with the world of wines, he enjoys the cold winds of the mountains, his other family at the local ice rink and time with man’s best friend Sheeba!
